Affirmative Action Program

Cerner Corporation has implemented an affirmative action program to employ and advance in employment qualified known disabled individuals, qualified known disabled veterans, recently separated veterans, campaign veterans, and armed forces service medal veterans (i.e., qualified covered veterans).

If you are an individual with a disability, or a qualified covered veteran, and would like to be included under the Company's affirmative action program, please complete an Affirmative Action Voluntary Identification Form. You may inform us of your desire to benefit under the program after an offer of employment has been made and/or at any time in the future. Submission of this information is voluntary, and refusal to provide it will not affect prospects for employment or result in discharge or disciplinary treatment. Information you submit will be kept confidential, except that:

  • Supervisors and managers may be informed regarding restrictions on the work or duties of individuals with disabilities or qualified covered veterans, and regarding necessary and reasonable accommodations;
  • First aid and safety personnel may be informed, when and to the extent appropriate, of any condition that might require emergency treatment; and
  • Government officials involved with affirmative action may be informed.

If you are an individual with a disability or a qualified covered veteran, we would like to include you in our affirmative action program. To be included, and to assist us, please complete the Affirmative Action Voluntary Identification Form or obtain one from Human Resources. This form will ask you to tell us about:

  • Any special methods, skills and procedures which qualify you for positions that you might not otherwise be able to do because of your disability (so that you can be considered for such applicable vacant positions); and
  • Any reasonable accommodation which can be made to enable you to perform the job properly and safely, including special equipment, appropriate changes in the physical layout of the job, or reassigning or restructuring marginal job duties, or other workplace accommodations.

Stephanie Roberts, Manager of Associate Relations, is responsible for the administration of the Company's affirmative action activities. Please give your completed Affirmative Action Voluntary Identification Form directly to Human Resources. You may review our affirmative Action Plans for Disabled Workers and for Special Disabled Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era at the Company's offices by contacting Human Resources during normal business hours and arranging a mutually convenient date and time for such review.
